Ramona Simko DVM graduated from UC Davis Veterinary School in 1992 and entered mixed animal practice for 2 years then western small animal practice for 15 years. After several years of an avid interest in the healing powers of herbs and natural organic foods, she studied Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2005 at the Chi Institute and recently worked with Dr. Beebe in Northern California. Her practice philosophy revolves around the healing powers of whole foods and natural plant medicines to restore the body's natural internal regulatory functions and healing capacity. The healing intent of the human-animal bond is integral to the healing process and she strongly encourages people caring for their pets to take responsibility for their companion's care. Dr. Simko has tremendous sensitivity to the emotional landscape of the human animal bond. Her goal is to help animal lovers make informed choices about their pet's care based upon the knowledge that there are many paths to healing and compliance with treatment requires the freedom to choose which path to take. Her special interests are food therapy and preventative medicine and she also enjoys the challenge of internal medicine and cancer cases. In her spare time, she hikes with her children, studies jazz and classical guitar, enjoys organic gardening and cares for many cats.
